Why your unit was not in the five.

Why your unit was not in the five.
Yesterday's white-space note told brands the demand-side rule: occupied corridors are filtered; five scored matches land only in the gap. This page is the owner companion. A shutter can look vacant, the ask can be written, and the unit can still never appear in a given brand's five. That is product behaviour, not a slight.
This page does not rewrite the last four owner notes. The 10 September listable-unit note is intake: size, rent, photos of this empty unit, permitted use, road. The 11 September screening note is who occupies the shell. The 12 September matching-floor note is the product those two gates sit on. The 14 September papers-before-keys note is the possession gate. This page names why the factory skips a unit for a given brief even when the shutter looks vacant.
Lokazen is a match factory. Owners list free. Brands pay. That is the commercial shape we built. It is not a PropTech slogan. A score is decision-support, not a lease. Counsel and possession stay with the parties. A success fee applies when a lease closes. Nothing here promises an LOI.
Occupied for that brand is not white space
The factory starts with the footprint the brand already trades. Before a unit is scored, existing outlets are read. A unit that sits on a machine that brand already occupies is not white space for that brief. It stays off the five. Yesterday wrote that rule for brands. This page writes the owner consequence: vacant on an occupied corridor is still occupied for that brand.
We do not publish outlet counts by brand. We do not publish how often a unit misses the five for this reason. Those figures are unknown here and are not estimated. The claim is narrower: the same honesty that asks you to name the road also filters a unit that sits on a road the brand already trades.
A shop on Indiranagar 100ft is not a match for a brand that already sits on Indiranagar 100ft. It can still be a match for a brand that does not. The skip is brief-specific. It is not a verdict that the unit is dead stock.
A neighbourhood word is not a machine
A listing that only says "Indiranagar shop" has the same hole as a brief that only says Indiranagar: no machine to score. The 13 September machines note already said a neighbourhood word is not a product. Indiranagar 80ft is not Indiranagar 100ft. Koramangala 80 Ft is a machine. The listable note already required the road. This page names the skip: without a road-level machine, the brief cannot score the gap.
Held public placements already show why the word collapses different shells. Burger Seigneur on Indiranagar 80ft is already in public Lokazen copy at about 3,500 sqft. Sandowitch on Indiranagar 100ft is already published at about 500. Eleven Bakehouse on the same 100ft is already published at about 1,000. Madam Chocolate on the same 100ft is already published at about 500. Tan Coffee on Koramangala 80 Ft is already published at about 2,200. Evil Onigiri on St Marks Road is already published at about 1,000. Those sizes are named units, not a sample, and they are not expansion counts.
If the listing stops at the neighbourhood word, the factory cannot tell which of those machines the empty unit is. It cannot put the unit in a five that needs a named gap.
Spec gap: vacant is not inventory
The listable note already named the five fields: size, rent, photos of this empty unit, permitted use, and road. This page does not walk them again. It names the skip those fields prevent: missing any one of them means the unit is not inventory the factory can score.
A caption that says "about 500, good location, pics next message" is a rumour. Last year's tenant Instagram is not a photo of this empty unit. A pin code is not a road. The factory will not invent the missing field so the shutter can ride along in someone else's five.
Wrong size band, wrong use
A 500 sandwich shell is not a 3,500 dining brief. Held placements already published those two sizes on two different Indiranagar machines. The screening note already said a cousin cafe concept is not a tenant. This page adds the matching-side skip: the unit can be fully listable and still sit outside a brief that needs a different shell.
Skipped for one brief is not delisted. A 500 counter can still enter a 500 sandwich five. The factory will not stretch a dining room brief down to a counter because the shutter is empty this week.
Empty is not handover-ready
The papers-before-keys note already wrote the possession gate: ownership papers, sanctioned power, water, permitted use, handover pack. This page does not rewrite that pack. It is honest about the split: empty can clear the match filter and still stall before keys.
Intake scores size, rent, photos, use, and road. Possession needs the pack. A unit that looks vacant can sit in a scored set and still die when counsel asks who signs. That stall is not the same skip as occupied-corridor or spec-gap. Do not treat a photo of an empty room as if it were a pack, and do not treat a missing pack as the reason the factory never scored you. Those are two gates.
WhatsApp forwards are not the matching floor
The matching-floor note already said we built a floor, not a forward chain. Circulation among five numbers is not a scored set. If the unit still lives in six groups and nowhere a brief can run, it will not appear in anyone's five, because it never entered inventory. This page does not rewrite that product note. It names the skip: a forward is not a shortlist.
The rent context we already publish (not a rate card)
Owners often read a skip as a rent problem. Benchmark the pocket first, the same rule as the listable note, the screening note, the matching-floor note, the papers note, and the vacancy playbook. Across the 124 commercial pockets Lokazen benchmarks, ground-floor rent runs from about Rs 58 to Rs 575 per sqft per month. Across 145 live ground-floor retail and restaurant listings, the median ask is about Rs 200 and the lower quartile about Rs 135. Already in the vacancy-versus-fair-rent playbook. Not new measurements. Not a street rate card.
A fair ask on the wrong machine, the wrong size band, or a missing spec still misses that brand's five. The rent span is context. It is not the filter.
Lokazen does not publish outlet counts by brand, how often units miss the five, time-on-market, footfall, visit counts, or win rates, and none is estimated here.
Dual read
If you are the owner
This is the supply-side page. Name the road-level machine. Finish the five listable fields. Keep the unit on the floor we built, not in a forward chain. Accept that a unit on a corridor a brand already occupies will not be sent to that brand as white space. Accept that a 500 sandwich shell will not enter a 3,500 dining five. Finish the pack so a match can actually hand over. List free on lokazen.in. Owners list free. /for-owners is the dedicated owner page if you want the longer walkthrough first. A success fee applies only when a lease closes.
If you are the brand
Short demand-side read. Yesterday already wrote the gap filter. Write use, size band, the unoccupied machine, and stretch. A neighbourhood word is not a brief. Five scored matches in the gap beat a dump of vacant shutters. Start a brand search or use /for-brands. This owner page does not quote plan prices. The longer process stays in the brand expansion playbook. A score is still not a lease.
What this page will not invent
- Outlet counts by brand: not published; unknown here.
- How often units miss the five: not published; unknown here.
- Time-on-market, footfall, visit counts, win rates: not published; unknown here.
- Rents by road beyond the already-held pocket typicals: not published; unknown here.
- Brand plan prices: not on this owner page.
- Promised LOIs: a score is not a deal, and a skip is not a verdict on the asset.
The held rent span, the live-listing median and quartile, the named placement sizes, the five listable fields, the matching floor, and papers-before-keys are already in print on this site. This page applies them to one job: saying why a listable-looking unit still misses a given brand's five.
Owner playbook: get into a brief that can score you
- Do not skip the five listable fields. Size, rent, photos of this empty unit, permitted use, road. Revisit the listable-unit note.
- Name the road-level machine, not only the neighbourhood word. 80ft and 100ft are different products. Revisit the machines note.
- Do not expect a unit on an occupied corridor to appear in that brand's five. Yesterday's white-space note is the demand-side twin.
- Do not stretch a 500 sandwich shell toward a 3,500 dining brief. Revisit the screening note.
- Keep the unit on the floor we built, not in six groups. Revisit the matching-floor note.
- Finish the pack so a scored match can actually hand over. Revisit the papers-before-keys note. Possession is a different gate from the match filter.
- Write an asking rent against the pocket typical, not the strongest street that shares the locality name. Revisit the vacancy playbook.
- List where briefs actually run. lokazen.in is the owner list path. Free to list. Five scores on the other side are not a lease.
A note on the data
Named placement sizes (Burger Seigneur, Indiranagar 80ft, about 3,500; Sandowitch, Indiranagar 100ft, about 500; Eleven Bakehouse, Indiranagar 100ft, about 1,000; Madam Chocolate, Indiranagar 100ft, about 500; Tan Coffee, Koramangala 80 Ft, about 2,200; Evil Onigiri, St Marks Road, about 1,000) are already in public Lokazen copy, including the 9-15 September notes. Ground-floor rent from about Rs 58 to Rs 575 across 124 tracked pockets, the live-listing median near Rs 200 and lower quartile near Rs 135 across 145 ground-floor retail and restaurant listings, are already in the vacancy playbook. Owners list free; brands pay: already the public commercial shape. Five scored matches and under-five-minute onboarding are already in the 9 September brief note.
Lokazen does not publish outlet counts by brand, how often units miss the five, time-on-market, footfall, visit counts, or win rates, and none is estimated here.

Frequently asked questions
- Why was my vacant Bangalore shop not in a brand's five?
- A vacant-looking shutter can still miss a given brand's five. Common skips: the unit sits on a machine that brand already occupies (not white space); the listing is only a neighbourhood word; size, rent, photos of this empty unit, permitted use, or road is missing; the shell is the wrong size band or use for that brief; the unit never left WhatsApp forwards. Empty is not the same as matchable. Lokazen does not publish how often units miss the five.
- How is this different from yesterday's white-space note?
- The 15 September white-space note is the demand-side rule: brands get scored matches only in corridors they do not already occupy. This page is the owner companion: why a listable-looking unit still never appears in that brand's five. It does not rewrite the 10 September listable note, the 11 September screening note, the 12 September matching-floor note, or the 14 September papers-before-keys note.
- If I list the unit as Indiranagar, is that enough for the five?
- No. Indiranagar is a neighbourhood word, not one machine. Indiranagar 80ft and Indiranagar 100ft are different machines, already shown by held placements at about 3,500 versus 500 / 1,000. Without a road-level machine the brief cannot score the gap. The listable note already required the road. List free at lokazen.in.
- Can an empty shop still miss the five if the handover pack is incomplete?
- Intake and possession are different gates. The match filter scores size, rent, photos, use, and road, then filters occupied corridors and wrong size or use. Papers-before-keys is the possession gate: who can sign, power, water, use, handover pack. A unit can clear intake and still stall before keys. Empty is not handover-ready. This is not legal advice.
- Do property owners pay to list on Lokazen?
- No. Owners list free. Brands pay. Onboarding takes under five minutes once the unit is specified. Five scored matches are decision-support, not a lease. A success fee applies when a lease closes. This owner page does not quote plan prices. Nothing on this page promises an LOI.
- How often do units miss the five, and what is the time-on-market?
- Unknown here. Lokazen does not publish how often units miss the five, time-on-market, footfall, visit counts, win rates, or outlet counts by brand, and none is estimated. This page is the qualitative skip map, not a conversion study. The held rent span (about Rs 58 to Rs 575 across 124 pockets, live-listing median near Rs 200) is already published context, not a street quote.
