Quick answer: Yes, but it is no longer only a fashion street. The House of Rare's new 6,000 sq ft, two-floor flagship sits on 100 Feet Road, Indiranagar. As of 2 Nov 2026, Lokazen counts 1,416 active outlets within 1 km of it. Only 270 are fashion (19.1%); 737 are food and drink (52.0%).
What did The House of Rare open in Indiranagar?
Its biggest Bengaluru store. The group behind Rare Rabbit, Rareism, Rare Ones and Rare'Z opened a 6,000 sq ft flagship across two floors at 2010, 100 Feet Road, HAL 2nd Stage. Indulge Express covered the store on 31 Oct 2026 as it rolled out new autumn and winter collections. The launch release, carried by Business Standard (ANI) on 3 Sep 2026, says it is the group's second-largest store in India after Kolkata.
| Detail | What was announced | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Size and format | 6,000 sq ft over two floors; four brands, two street entrances | ANI release, 3 Sep 2026 |
| Network | About 25 stores in Bengaluru and about 42 in India after this opening | Indian Retailer |
| Why Indiranagar | "Established premium high-street and lifestyle ecosystem" and a diverse shopper base | ANI release, 3 Sep 2026 |
| Latest coverage | New A/W 2026 collections and the full Sugoi sneaker line debut at the store | Indulge Express, 31 Oct 2026 |
The store is new, so treat our counts below as the street it walked into, not a measure of its own trade.
Is 100 Feet Road still Bangalore's fashion street?
It is the densest street we track, but fashion is the minority. We drew a 1 km circle around seven Bangalore high streets and counted active brand outlets in each.
| High street (1 km radius) | Active outlets | Fashion outlets | Fashion share | Food and drink |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Commercial Street | 928 | 355 | 38.3% | 405 (43.6%) |
| Indiranagar 100 Feet Road | 1,416 | 270 | 19.1% | 737 (52.0%) |
| Brigade Road | 1,251 | 275 | 22.0% | 663 (53.0%) |
| Jayanagar 4th Block | 903 | 277 | 30.7% | 363 (40.2%) |
| Koramangala 80 Feet Road | 1,206 | 198 | 16.4% | 635 (52.7%) |
| HSR Layout 27th Main | 962 | 195 | 20.3% | 425 (44.2%) |
| Malleshwaram Sampige Road | 570 | 152 | 26.7% | 221 (38.8%) |
- Indiranagar has the most outlets. 1,416 within 1 km, ahead of Brigade Road (1,251) and Koramangala (1,206).
- Commercial Street is still the fashion capital. 355 fashion outlets, 38.3% of everything there, against 19.1% in Indiranagar.
- Indiranagar is food first. More than half of its outlets are cafes, restaurants, bars, bakeries and QSR.
- It has no mall inside 1 km. Every fashion outlet there is a street unit. Brigade Road, by contrast, has 112 mall outlets in its circle.
For a full read of the neighbourhood, see our Indiranagar commercial space guide. For the mall versus street trade-off, read the high street vs mall scorecard.
Why would a fashion brand pick a food-led street?
Because the crowd is already there, and it stays late. Within 300 m of the flagship, apparel ties with salons at 25 outlets each, with 16 bars, 14 cafes and 13 jewellers alongside. Shoppers come for dinner and drinks and walk past shopfronts on the way.
- Dwell time. A street with 737 food and drink outlets inside 1 km keeps people out for hours, which suits experience stores.
- A street address for a flagship. Mall units cap facade and height. A two-floor, two-entrance building on 100 Feet Road gives a brand its own front.
- A proven fashion customer. Apparel and footwear outlets within 1 km average a 4.34 Google rating, close to Commercial Street (4.37).
- Less fashion clutter. 270 fashion outlets is fewer than Commercial Street's 355 or Jayanagar 4th Block's 277, so a flagship stands out.
This is the same street-first logic we saw in the October D2C funding wave and in our D2C offline expansion analysis.
How big is The House of Rare in Bangalore already?
Large, and mostly in malls. Our census holds 29 active rows for the group: Rare Rabbit 22, Rareism 6 and one House of Rare store at Mall of Asia. They spread across 20 localities, and 16 are in or at malls, including counters inside Shoppers Stop. That is close to the company's own figure of about 25 Bengaluru stores.
The Indiranagar flagship is the move from a mall-heavy footprint to a street showcase. Our census has recorded Rare Rabbit and Rareism outlets on 100 Feet Road since April 2026; the flagship now gathers all four brands under one roof.
Which fashion chains are on 100 Feet Road, and which are not?
Among apparel, footwear and accessory chains with eight or more Bangalore outlets in our census, these have at least one active outlet within 1.5 km of the flagship, and these do not.
| Group | Chains (Bangalore outlets in our census) |
|---|---|
| Within 1.5 km | Zara (18), Levi's (27), SNITCH (25), Skechers (24), Adidas (22), Nike (9), Tommy Hilfiger (8), Calvin Klein (11), Fabindia (31), Manyavar (32), Zudio (56), Westside (26) |
| Not within 1.5 km | H&M (9) and Aldo (13): nearest active outlets about 2.2 km away near MG Road. Sunglass Hut (8), Aramya (12) and Flying Machine (8): none within 2.5 km |
Gaps like these are where a brand can enter without landing next to its own stores. Our white-space expansion guide explains the method, and the apparel and footwear space guide covers unit sizes and frontage.
What should brands and owners do next?
| If you are | What the data says | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| A premium or D2C fashion brand | Indiranagar has the footfall and only 19.1% fashion share; no mall competition inside 1 km | Shortlist two-floor street units with frontage on 100 Feet Road and 12th Main |
| A value fashion brand | Commercial Street and Jayanagar 4th Block hold more fashion density and a price-led shopper | Compare against our MG Road and Brigade Road guide |
| An owner of a large unit on 100 Feet Road | A 6,000 sq ft flagship just validated big-format street retail here | List the unit with floor plates, frontage and parking details |
| A food or bar brand | 737 food and drink outlets inside 1 km; the street is crowded for F&B | Look one block off the main road, or at Koramangala; see our Koramangala guide |
